Minimum Internet Requirements for AMAU

Updated

Students access AMAU from many parts of the world, often with different internet conditions. To ensure smooth video playback, live sessions, and platform features, a stable internet connection is recommended.

Meeting these minimum requirements helps prevent buffering, playback interruptions, and loading issues.

Standard Definition (SD): 1—10 Mbps Suitable for lower-resolution viewing and smaller screens.

High Definition (HD 720p): 10—18 Mbps Recommended for most users. Provides clear video and reliable playback.

Full HD (1080p): 18—25 Mbps Best for larger screens and higher-quality viewing.

Ultra HD / 4K (Optional): 25—35 Mbps Only necessary for the highest video quality. Not required for most lessons.

You can test your internet speed here:

If your speed is lower than recommended, lowering the video quality in the player can improve playback.

Factors That May Affect Streaming

Shared Wi-Fi Networks

If multiple people are using the same network for streaming, downloads, or video calls, bandwidth may be limited, and videos may buffer.

Mobile Data Connections

Streaming HD videos can consume significant mobile data. When possible, use a stable Wi-Fi connection.

Device Performance

Older devices may struggle with high-resolution videos. Keeping your device, browser, or app updated can improve performance.

Network Congestion

Internet speeds may slow down during peak hours when many users are online. If buffering occurs, try watching at a quieter time or lower the video quality.

Tip: Before starting a live session or watching a lesson, ensure your connection is stable and close unnecessary downloads or streaming apps.

A stable connection helps ensure that your lessons, community discussions, and live sessions run smoothly so you can focus on benefiting from the knowledge.
