Clearing Cache & Cookies: Improving Your AMAU Experience

Sometimes videos may not load properly, pages may display incorrectly, or updates in the AMAU platform may not appear as expected. In many cases, this happens because of outdated browser cache or cookies.

Clearing them refreshes your browser and can quickly resolve many common issues.

What Are Cache and Cookies?

Cache Cache consists of temporary files your browser stores to help websites load faster. Over time, these files can become outdated or corrupted and may cause playback issues or loading errors.

Cookies Cookies are small files that store login information and site preferences. If these files become outdated, they can sometimes cause login problems or prevent certain features from working correctly.

Clearing cache and cookies allows your browser to load the latest version of the AMAU platform.

When Should You Clear Cache or Cookies?

You may want to clear them if you experience:

• Videos not loading or buffering frequently
• Pages displaying incorrectly
• Login problems or repeated login prompts
• Community posts or updates not appearing properly

How to Clear Cache and Cookies

Google Chrome

  1. Click the three dots (⋮) in the browser.

  2. Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear Browsing Data.

  3. Select Cached images and files (optional: Cookies and other site data).

  4. Choose Time range: All time.

  5. Click Clear Data.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Menu (≡) → Settings → Privacy & Security.

  2. Scroll to Cookies and Site Data.

  3. Click Clear Data.

  4. Select Cached Web Content (optional: Cookies).

  5. Click Clear.

Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari → Preferences.

  2. Select Privacy.

  3. Click Manage Website Data.

  4. Select Remove All.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three dots (⋮).

  2. Go to Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services.

  3. Under Clear Browsing Data, select Choose what to clear.

  4. Select Cached images and files (optional: Cookies and other site data).

  5. Click Clear now.

Important Note

Clearing cookies may log you out of your AMAU account, so you may need to sign in again afterwards.

Best Practices

• Clear your browser cache periodically, especially if you notice playback or loading issues.
• Ensure your browser is updated to the latest version.
• For mobile devices, consider using the AMAU mobile app, which is optimised for smoother performance.
