AMAU Community Rules & Etiquette: Preserving a Space of Barakah

Updated

Welcome to the AMAU Community

The AMAU Community is a gathering of students of knowledge from across the world, united by one shared intention: to draw closer to Allah [ﷻ]{dir=“rtl”} through learning, reflection, and the sharing of beneficial knowledge.

This community is more than a discussion space. It’s a place where hearts connect through ‘ilm, iman is strengthened, and small reminders can become sources of immense reward in the akhirah.

The AMAU Community brings together students, volunteers, and team members, all striving toward growth in knowledge, character, and sincerity. To preserve the barakah of this space and protect its purpose, we ask every member to uphold the following principles.

These are not restrictions for hardship, but guidelines for harmony, respect, and khayr.

Be respectful

The Community is a place where you can ask questions and seek knowledge with your peers. This is a shared space of connection and learning, so please be polite and considerate in your interactions with other members.

All people are welcome to use the Community. However, personal insults, threats of violence, and harassment have no place here and will result in revoked Community membership as well as cancellation of your account without any refunds.

Be relevant

There’s a lot of conversation happening in the Community. Keep your comments constructive and relevant to the topics being discussed in the Academy.

If you have a new question, start a new thread rather than interrupting a conversation. Avoid asking questions that can only be answered by the teachers and leave them for the Q&A sessions.

Share the knowledge, but keep it authentic

Sharing knowledge is encouraged, but only if you are confident about what you are sharing.

Help make the Community a richer place by sharing beneficial content, especially notes and benefits from the classes. Start a thread, post a comment, or share a reminder, but ensure it is authentic.

Please note that there is a difference between sharing benefits and sharing links to other speakers, organizations, sites, forums, playlists, or courses. Our platform is not for advertising external content. Such posts will be removed.

Be responsible and keep it Halal

You are responsible for your interactions with other community members. Please practice good judgment when posting and interacting with others.

Do not post anything that violates Islamic principles.

Fear Allah in your interactions and avoid any form of communication with the opposite gender. Members must not chat, mention, reply to, or engage in discussions with the opposite gender within the community.

Any form of extremism will not be tolerated and will lead to an immediate ban. Please also avoid turning the community into a marketing channel for your business or organization.

Protect everyone’s privacy

Do not share anything about yourself, your business, or another community member that you or they would not want publicly available.

Do not post personal information received in private messages or other one-to-one communications without the other party’s consent.

Kindly avoid using personal photos of yourself or family members as your display picture. This community is meant for announcements and sharing benefits, not for social networking.

Keep in mind, this is user-generated content

The AMAU Community contains user-generated content that may include advice, reminders, and insights.

AMAU is not responsible for the content generated by other users. Please apply good judgment regarding information shared in the community, just as you would with any information found online.

Discuss Ideas, Not Individuals

Focus on discussing ideas and knowledge rather than individuals.

By engaging in the AMAU Community, you agree to follow these rules as well as the full AMAU Community Terms of Use. If we notice widespread violations of these guidelines, the community feature may be disabled for all students.

The AMAU Logo and Employees

Some community members may have an AMAU logo next to their names. This indicates that they are AMAU employees.

Like other members, they participate in the community and may share their knowledge and insights.

Reporting Concerns with Wisdom

If you notice content that violates these guidelines:

• Use “Report Content” from the message options
• Clearly explain why the content is concerning
