One-on-One Follow-Ups: Personal Guidance and Accountability
Updated
Certificates, Progress & TrackingAs part of the AMAU Mentorship Track, students receive regular one-on-one follow-up sessions with a mentor. These sessions are designed to provide personal guidance, support consistency, and help students stay focused in their journey of seeking knowledge.
Each session gives students dedicated time to reflect on their progress, address challenges, and receive tailored guidance.
Monthly Mentorship Calls
Students in the mentorship program typically receive one one-on-one call each month with their assigned mentor.
These sessions help mentors review:
• Progress in lessons and study consistency
• Engagement with coursework and exams
• Overall learning habits and discipline
The purpose of these calls is to help students remain accountable and continue progressing in their studies.
Academic Support
During follow-up sessions, students may also receive support with their academic development.
This may include:
• Reviewing progress in Quran recitation or memorisation
• Clarifying difficult concepts in Arabic or other subjects
• Discussing study strategies and exam preparation
• Strengthening retention and understanding of lessons
Students are encouraged to bring questions or challenges they encounter during their studies.

Mentorship also recognises that students face challenges outside of their studies.
Follow-up sessions provide an opportunity to discuss areas such as:
• Time management and balancing responsibilities
• Maintaining discipline in study routines
• Managing distractions such as excessive social media use
• Developing healthy learning habits
The aim is to help students grow not only academically, but also personally.
Tailored Guidance
Each mentorship journey is unique. One-on-one follow-ups allow mentors to provide personalised advice based on each student’s progress and needs.
Mentors may:
• Suggest study strategies suited to the student
• Provide encouragement during difficult periods
• Help students set realistic learning goals
• Recognise progress and milestones
Building Consistency
Regular mentorship sessions help students build habits that support long-term learning.
Over time, these follow-ups can help students:
• Develop discipline in their studies
• Maintain consistency in watching lessons
• Reflect on their learning progress
• Stay motivated in their pursuit of knowledge
A Final Note
One-on-one follow-ups are designed to ensure that students do not feel alone in their journey of learning. Mentors provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability to help students continue progressing steadily.
